Our Story

Jovee brings together the culinary traditions of Italy and Japan in a setting overlooking the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountain. Located in Souk Al Bahar, the restaurant celebrates the distinctive character of both cuisines, offering guests a dining experience shaped by flavour, craftsmanship, and the vibrant energy of Downtown Dubai.

The menu explores the comforting richness of Italian cooking alongside the precision and balance of Japanese cuisine. Truffle pizza, caper berry pasta, and mushroom and truffle risotto share the spotlight with dragon rolls, spicy tuna rolls, and shrimp tempura rolls. Each selection offers a different expression of the ingredients and techniques that make these culinary traditions so enduringly loved.

Beyond the menu, Jovee invites guests to settle into the occasion, whether gathering with friends and loved ones, sharing a leisurely meal, or celebrating something special. Born and raised in Mumbai, Chef Amit Puri is a celebrated culinary consultant with over two decades of experience across India, the USA, Dubai, and Kuwait. Known for his philosophy that a great dish lies in its honesty and genuineness, Chef Amit’s approach to cuisine is modern, artistic, and deeply flavour-driven. His style blends traditional culinary foundations with contemporary techniques and global influences, creating dishes that are both familiar and innovative.

For Jovee Restaurant, Dubai, Chef Amit Puri collaborated with our team as a culinary consultant, contributing his expertise to the development of the restaurant’s concept and menu. His ability to reinterpret comfort flavours through a modern lens helped shape a dining experience that reflects creativity, balance, and a strong sense of culinary identity.

Shatbhi Basu

Bar Consultant

Shatbhi Basu is one of the most respected pioneers in the world of beverages and mixology. An alumna of IHM Mumbai (Class of 1980), she has spent decades shaping the bar industry as a consultant, educator, and author. Known for her deep understanding of wines, spirits, and flavour profiles, she has designed and launched numerous bar programs, curated signature beverage menus, and trained teams to deliver exceptional drinking experiences.
